Okaihau collage Alan ForgieKia Ora, Welcome to Okaihau College

E whai ana te kura tuarua o Okaihau ki te rapu oranga, i runga, i te kaupapa akoranga i roto i te wairua manaaki.

Okaihau College seeks to prepare students for life through excellent teaching and learning programmes in a caring environment.

The College is set in attractive grounds with covered courtyards for students use. We have extensive classroom facilities to deliver a modern curriculum with specialist rooms for music, drama, art, physical education, computing, graphics, workshop technologies as well as food and nutrition. Maori values and protocols are supported by our new marae complex.

Outstanding academic success is coupled with an extensive outdoor education programme and student support systems. A wide variety of sporting codes are supported. Drama and Kapa Haka are particular strengths of the school. The school’s extra-curricular programme encourages all students to become involved in the full life of the school, irrespective of expertise or experience.

Individualised programmes are available for students with special needs, including those of high ability. The College is a leading school in the use of Information and Communication Technology.

Okaihau College enjoys a well-deserved reputation for excellence and students are expected to work hard and to have fun doing so.
