Senior Report Evening

Wednesday 21 September 2016, 4.15 – 6.15 pm (please note change in times)

We are hosting Parent/Teacher Interviews in the school hall on Wednesday 21 September 2016.   Parents and caregivers of students across Years 11, 12 and 13 are welcome to attend.

Teaching staff will be available to meet parents and caregivers to discuss the recently issued end-of-year reports. Students are more than welcome to attend with their parents / caregivers.

To avoid long delays, we operate an appointment system. Please ask your student to make an appointment with each teacher you wish to see using the appointment sheet enclosed with their report. If staff do not have appointments after 6.00 pm, they are not required to stay.

Please bring your student’s report with you. We look forward to seeing as many parents and caregivers as possible.

Our talented Ngāreta Teira-Tuiloma, her big brother Heremia Tuiloma and their MTI – IHI Crew need your support

Recently, Ngāreta, Heremia and the MTI – IHI Crew competed in Māori TV’s Quarter Finals of The Stage – Haka Fusion but unfortunately didn’t make it through, however they have a chance to return to the competition with your support. Please help them get back in by voting in the Māori TV’s ‘Peoples Choice’ for the Semi Finals.

HOW TO VOTE: From 9.30pm Thursday 1st September to 5pm Monday 5th September, Just paste this link: http://www.maoritelevision.com/tv/shows/stage-haka-fusion into your browser and you will be taken directly to the Māori TV’s voting page.  Click on TEAM 2 …  MTI-IHI. There is one vote per person/computer.  The crew with the most votes gets back into the competition.

MTI-IHI are a whānau of dancers who base themselves right here in Okaihau. Ngāreta is a Year 10 Student at Okaihau College and she is a key member of MTI (Movement to Inspire). She teaches hip hop classes to a number of Okaihau College and Okaihau Primary School students. Her brother Heremia is also an ex-student of Okaihau College. MTI love the Māori culture and love Hip Hop dance.  They want the opportunity to get back into The Stage – Haka Fusion, to redeem themselves and show their unique stories in a creative, innovative and ‘stylie’ way.  With your help and support, they can do this!

They are now full-on preparing their new set and are focused to ‘KAPOW’ the judges and ‘WOW’ the audience. They will be ready to take on the big guns, having experienced both the ups and downs that have prepared them well.

Join them on their journey… Check out the MTI IHI Supporters Page on Facebook for all their updates. https://www.facebook.com/mere.taylortuiloma/posts/1027143257334469
