MOKO Foundation Award

Kaitaia’s Dr Lance O’Sullivan and his wife Tracy created the MOKO Foundation to support high needs families and communities. General Manager of the MOKO Foundation is former Okaihau College student and Head Girl Deidre Otene.

Deidre came to Okaihau College this week to present Year 13 student, Nancy Lemon, with a brand new HP lap-top as well as a copy of Dr Lance O’Sullivan’s book “The Good Doctor”. To apply for this support, Nancy had to complete an application form, provide a reference and a covering letter outlining how she thought she would benefit from the award. Guidance Counsellor, Mrs Jenny Griffin, supported Nancy in her application and provided a glowing reference.

Nancy would like to acknowledge the support of Deidre for supporting her application as the benefit of having her own lap-top to help with her studies are significant. Next year, Nancy is planning to attend the Queenstown Resort College, Tai Tokerau Campus in Paihia to undertake studies in Tourism and Business Tourism.
